They say the latest generation of multispindles are much more precise. However, none can completely resolve all of the problems.
The new CNC multispindles have certainly improved production, but have not done away with the issue of bar stock vibrations. For this reason, traditional multispindles can never be as precise as a machine that processes cut bar.
Traditional multispindles are certainly a great solution when you need to produce millions of pieces a year, and you do not need utmost precision.
But a traditional multispindle could NEVER be retooled within 15 minutes! So, if you need to retool frequently, a traditional multispindle is a somewhat limited solution.
> Can I use Linea Spindle to turn pieces at 10,000 rpm?
Yes, Linea Spindle is able to turn pieces at 10,000 rpm. This is, in fact, the speed reached by the electrospindle. Since you do not have to turn bar stock, but only the piece, you can easily work at such speeds.
> With Linea Spindle, how do you feed the piece into the machine?
This is completely up to the end-user.
With Linea Spindle, the piece can be fed into the machine in various ways:
- With a robot: this is the best choice if there are many different blanks.
- With a vibrator: this can feed the pieces to a manipulator inside the machine, a solution that is best, for example, when processing bar lengths with the same diameters. A vibrator is the cheapest option, and enough to serve the machine efficiently.
